About TempoRun: who builds it and how it works

Denis Povarov

Hi, I'm Denis Povarov, a software engineer who has been building digital products for more than ten years. TempoRun is one of them. More about me and the other things I build is on denpo.dev.

What TempoRun is

TempoRun is an AI coach for running, cycling, swimming and triathlon. You tell it which days and how many hours a week you can train, and it builds a plan around them toward your race or goal date. Once you connect Strava, your activities come in on their own, and when one matches a planned session, the coach reworks the next two weeks around how it went. Meals go in as a sentence or a photo, and when the coach reworks your plan, it checks whether you've been eating enough for it. Tempo, the coach you chat with, answers questions about your plan or last week's runs from your own data.

The facts

  • TempoRun is free while it's in closed beta: the whole coach, no card. Prices will be published on the Pricing page before anything changes, and nothing starts charging on its own.

  • No ads.

  • Your data is never sold.

  • Your data is stored in the EU.

  • Who else handles it:

    • Cloudflare runs the site and sends the emails.

    • Hetzner and DigitalOcean host the servers and files.

    • OpenAI writes and adjusts your plan, writes your Sunday weekly summary, reads the meals you log and answers when you ask Tempo.

    • Strava sends your activities, once you connect it.

    • Google and Apple handle your sign-in if you use them.

    • Google Analytics counts visits.

    • Sentry and Bugdump receive error and bug reports.

    • Kookee hosts the blog and the help center, and answers the questions you send through Ask AI.
